I agree completely. I chose a white house, and when I had my shingles replaced a couple of years ago, I told the guy I wanted the whitest ones. I've watched with interest the new "ultra white" paints that reflect a certain wavelength of the infrared spectrum straight back into space, thereby passively cooling a house. I'd love to slather my entire house in that stuff.

New Mexico. However, it does get pretty cold here in the winter, and a black house in the winter would be nice. But, I spend more on cooling than heating here, so white house it is.
