For me it is a nostalgia thing. I have happy memories that include fries with ketchup, so now they seem naked without.

Unable to get Ranch for fries at Five Guys, and not liking ketchup, I started ordering a side of mayo for the seasoned fries. That quickly became my favorite fries. I haven't eaten out since the pandemic, but if I were to go out, I'd go to Five Guys to get this. Or, to KFC for an extra crispy chicken breast.
