Oh, and another thing!

My office at work has no windows, so no natural light. My only light are four florescent lights in the ceiling, and I have always HATED florescent lighting. To me they are the optical analog of wearing an itchy sweater, so I usually keep my office lights off and use a couple smaller desk lamps to illuminate my work space.

One of my colleagues recently moved to a different area, opening up their office (which has a window that lets in natural light). There is no prescribed pecking order on my team, but we were in agreement a while back that when that office cleared up that I could get first dibs because I've been here the longest.

At the end of last week I was working from home for a day, and in one of our team meetings one of my coworkers piped up and told me that he was going to take the office, that they had all talked about it and agreed. I wasn't part of the conversation at all. I asked why they did that, knowing what we discussed earlier, and why they did that while I was out of the office. Their excuse was that because I sit in the dark anyway, there was no reason for me to get a window office.

I'm still frustrated about it. To them I must be only the quirky coworker that sits in the dark and listens to metal, so there's no way that I'd actually like having a window. My teammates completely discounted that I keep my lights off/dim is because of sensitization problems. I can't even talk about it without people thinking that I'm just being difficult and petty, and the higher I try to take it, the more difficult and petty they'll think I am.

They can think what they like, facts are facts, it had previously been discussed that you have opportunity to be offered the office, as you have longevity there. It seems to have been done in a way to exclude you, by your explanation. I would state facts, ask if there's going to be resolution and look for another job, if the results are unsatisfactory.
