Years ago I worked out the math for a doctor to rent all his own equipment ( including MRI! ), pay for full time staff including accountants etc. and the money still didn't add up.

If doctors actually were paid $1,000/hr for their time, I'd understand because at least they are doing the labor. But that's not what is happening. Insurance companies are taking the profit.
