it sucks but they didn't follow the basic 3-2-1 rule of back-ups (3 copies, 2 types of media, 1 off-site)

    That’s smart, My last company did 4-3-2-1. When the servers went down all we had was 4 calling birds 3 French hens and 2 turtle doves.
