Search for "shockers" here: https://penny-arcade.info/the-strange-the-unusual (Note: not Penny Arcade the comic; aren't domain names fun?) permalink fedilink source hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Ironrod@sh.itjust.works 8 points 23 hours ago https://i.pinimg.com/originals/9d/b9/d7/9db9d78c2d5404819040f36511ab9ac9.jpg That's the one I remember, back when the Metro Centre had an arcade. I'm pretty sure the handles just vibrated at increasing intensity until you let go rather than providing an actual electric shock though permalink fedilink source parent [–] Zos_Kia@jlai.lu 9 points 1 day ago* (1 child) I remember 15 years ago being in a club in Acapulco and there was this old Mexican guy just going around with a modified car battery and two handles. He'd offer the handles to you then turn this big knob that controlled the voltage. And then he'd ask for a tip! It was so stupid. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 1 point 14 hours ago* Well, if you don't tip, he just cranks up the car battery and chases you. Smart business model, honestly. permalink fedilink source parent
