Well I pay for good press, but it needs to be good for me to pay for it.

I have a feeling that was happening with the press regardless of subscription, but you raise a point

    "Well I pay for good press" <- does your use of the expression mean that you will only pay if you find good press, and are therefore not paying for press because you don't find it up to your standards?

    I don’t pay for it unless it’s up to my standards

    Like anything else I decide to pay for or subscribe to
