I would have guessed that was Gears of War, but we're in a PC gaming comm and that was an Xbox game. I never much cared for the format, personally.

Capcom and funky controls though... I probably wouldn't have even considered Pragmata if it weren't for the demo. The game plays okay. Controlling two characters at once is part of the gimmick, and it works for me better than I expected it to.

Anyway, I remember playing RE3 and one called Code Veronica, not sure what number that was, and they weren't bad, but there was something magical about the first two. I think the genre shifted after those (or after RE3), kind of like how the Mass Effect games look very similar, but the first one is more RPG and the latter two are more cover shooters.

Gears came out nearly two full years after RE4. It was one of the most influential games of all time for sure, and began taking the RE series in a more action orientated direction. It returned to its survival horror roots, but with a twist as the first game in first person, with RE7 and it was a real return to form.
