What's your favourite thing to self host and why? (aussie.zone)

Topic per title, basically.

For me: after setting up all the integrations and fall overs using the arr stack and Jellyfin (inc Sabnzdb etc)... I keep circling back to Nova video player.

It's arguably not even self hosting...but there something undeniably cool about sticking a USB stick into a router, installing a single app on your TV and boom, done. EDIT: of course, it can consume the *arr stack, integrate with Ombi etc

IOW, I really like stuff that simple to set up and punches above its weight class.

Would you mind sharing more about your experience with Simplefin? I've been looking to make the jump, but I've read a fair amount of feedback that seems to indicate it might not be worth it given issues with instability, inconsistency syncing, etc.

    It'll be down to your bank's rules. My main bank and brokerage work flawlessly, sync everyday. My secondary bank and Amex need to be reauthenticated every week or two. So I just update those once a month. Just go on simplefin and run the 2FA plus some waiting.

    It doesn't sync non-bank stuff, so there's some RRSP providers I just enter manually.

    For $20 cad a year its fine. I wouldn't use it to track daily expenses unless you know everything will work. I do all my finances once a month so its fine for me.
