Not if you play modded java edition, you can get by with 8gb in your system and 4gb allocated to the game.

Windows enshittification/Bedrock edition slop is probably why they're setting the bar so high.

Yeah you can get away with a lot when it comes to 1.21.1+ coupled with Java 25

Bedrock is way more optimised than java

It was made to work on phones

Vanilla maybe, but lightly modded Java has been more optimized than bedrock since at least 1.16.5

That was true at a certain point during its life, but after the RTX support was added performance optimization came crashing down.

Sodium on Java runs laps around bedrock nowadays.
