I mean yes, but also is that really detail we need in a game? I would rather have better performance tbh.

    Wouldn't it be a similar amount of graphics used as putting in a man's beard?

    Horizon Forbidden West was designed to run on most people's PCs and the PS5.

    Normally you don't see the individual hairs with a mans beard do you? More of a mesh and texture over it.

    Actually starting about ten fifteen years ago it was a big trend in games to add realistic hair that models individual strands and how they react to movement and gravity. Bunch of games have a real hair setting or something like that, Witcher 3 did it and boy did you need a beefy rig to handle that when it came out.

    Back then it was TressFX and NVIDIA HairWorks. Real good hair with physics is making a comeback, that new Dragon Age no one played has excellent hair.

    I played it! It was a pretty good game if a bit too PG. Terrible dragon age though. I do not know who thought nice-washing the literally grittiest most grim dark violent fantasy IP was a good idea.

    It started as a live-service game (cause Anthem was such a success for EA), so they had to file all the edges for mass marketability.

    Yeah and even with the development hell it went through, the final product was still a fun game, and one of the best performing ue5 games to date even. It's just not good at being dragon age. Like, the violent brutal brotherhood of assassins that literally abduct children and torture them either till they die or become assassins themselves and keep an entire city in line through fear of death, they're just portrayed as a bunch of lovable rogues! Like half the kids they abduct die in training. It's ridiculous.
