How much does it draw under load? I ask because I've always wanted one of these, but I'm on solar and batteries so I have to monitor load and usage a bit more closely than most.

It spikes up to 300-400 watts while in use, sometimes a little more if playing around with the actuators at the same time. The model I have is Alpha UX Pearl for reference.

You don't have to get an electric one either, lots just work off of existing water pressure. The heating is a nice but optional feature IMO

Oh yeah... not sure I'd handle a blast of cold water first thing in the morning very well though

see, that's the thing - if it's first thing, your cold water pipes will be room temp because they've been sitting there all night.

obvs dependent on usage throughout the night and who else uses it in the morning, but at least in my house, it takes some time for me to get actually cold water upstairs in the morning
