The Japanese toilet uses wash sprayers to act like a bidet. Takes up less room. For some reason, Americans like dirty asses.

    I know bidets and Japanese toilets but the image shown is the latter and not a bidet that's why I'm curious if that definition is a US thing or something, I like learning.

    The image shown most definitely contains a bidet.

    It's a washlet bidet, which attaches either underneath the toilet seat or as part of the toilet seat itself, and usually has controls that jut out to the right of the seat(to the right from the perspective of the seated person).

    The toilet in this picture has a washlet bidet installed.

    This is separate from the kind of bidets that are installed separately from the toilet, as is common in many other countries.
