I make these shiny objects out of rocks I collect, dichroic glass, and solid glass bricks. It's a really laborious but also meditative process.

Lapidary work is fun and rewarding, but if you decide to give it a try be sure to wear a respirator, silicosis will mess you up.

So what's the process like? Where do you source your rocks and stuff? Amazing work!

    Thanks! I'm in Oregon, so there are all kinds of cool rocks. A lot of them I've found myself or bought at rock shows, garage sale, etc.

    To make them, I cut the rock for the base and grind it flat. I then use uv resin to attach a layer of dichroic glass to a glass brick, and then a 2 part epoxy to attack the rock to the glass. I then use a tile saw to cut everything into the rough shape I want. From there it's just a matter of going up through the various grits of polishing disks until it's nice and shiny.
