The first stable version of the open-source web office suite Euro-Office has been released. This was announced by the leading project partners Nextcloud and Ionos. [...]

Local desktop and mobile applications are not yet available; they are the next step on the list. Full support for open standards like ODF is also a priority.

Zwei Gedanken weshalb ich bei libre bleibe, auch wenn ich die Entwicklung von Alternativen natürlich grundsätzlich begrüße

  1. Die Document Foundation (TDF) und LibreOffice-Mitgründer Italo Vignoli kritisieren scharf, dass Euro-Office standardmäßig auf Microsofts OOXML-Format setzt und das Projekt damit de facto ein Verbündeter von Microsoft sei

  2. Euro-Office basiert auf dem Code von OnlyOffice und ist damit potenziell von einem weiteren (teils proprietären) Ökosystem abhängig.
