[–] faceula@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago (6 children) Every interaction I've ever had with display port has resulted in me rage quitting. Did it ever do anything? permalink fedilink source hideshow 12 child comments replies: [–] PolarKraken@lemmy.dbzer0.com 17 points 2 months ago Eh? DisplayPort is great, non-proprietary HDMI that we should all be using instead. I use 4x DisplayPort connections at work daily. permalink fedilink source parent [–] zod000@lemmy.dbzer0.com 10 points 2 months ago What? I have been using it as my preferred video port for over a decade. How could it possibly make you rage quit? permalink fedilink source parent [–] Syndication@lemmy.today 9 points 2 months ago Display port? What's wrong with it? Only thing I can think of is it is sometimes hard to get out if you can't squeeze the cable to unsecure it. permalink fedilink source parent [–] SleeplessCityLights@programming.dev 3 points 2 months ago Are you referring to DP interfacing through UBS-C? permalink fedilink source parent [–] umbraroze@slrpnk.net 1 point 2 months ago My only interaction with DisplayPort was this: [bought a new monitor] Oooh, this one has two HDMI inputs and a DisplayPort input. I'll probably just need the HDMI inputs, but whatever. [got my late father's PC and decided to install Debian on it] So wait, this doesn't do HDMI, it just has VGA output. The only VGA monitor I have at hand kinda sucks. Oh, wait, what the heck is that? Is that a DisplayPort? Where did I put the cable? (Yeah, the PC works great, only problem is that it defaults to VGA output and will only switch to DP after several seconds, which means I never see the rad GRUB screen. So far, mostly used this PC to rip my CD collection to FLAC, because it has a DVD drive.) permalink fedilink source parent [–] BlackVenom@lemmy.world 1 point 2 months ago How? permalink fedilink source parent
