That is a life or death distinction. permalink fedilink source hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] MIDItheKID@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 child) They are? Could you explain? Because I was under the impression they were synonymous. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] magnolia_mayhem@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago Check my response to Axeman666 below. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Axeman666@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago (1 child) Do you mean like the difference between disposables vs refillables? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] magnolia_mayhem@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago Yes. The smaller disposable ecigs are generally manufactured en masse with low-grade materials and looser quality controls. The materials also tend to have more volatiles in them due to glues and single-use parts needing to be protected during storage and sale. Vapes are larger, built with more mechanical restrains like screws instead of glues and have generally higher quality controls due to lower volume. Vapes also tend to be bigger. This has the effect of being able to run the coil at lower temperatures because there's more surface area to interact with the juice. Ecigs run their coils at much higher temperatures because they have to make up for not having as much surface area, which leads to all kind of fun chemistry. permalink fedilink source parent
