AOC may not be perfect, but she’d represent a first of (hopefully) many steady shifts to the left that will eventually get us where we need to be.

I hope it goes much faster than the incrementalists claim it will.

    Every small step will be a battle. Republicans have the benefit of having all the wealthy elite on their side to fund the incremental push, we have to fight against it like salmon swimming up a river. We'll be a pink half-dead mess when we get to the end if we're lucky enough to get there at all.

    Then we'll need better politicians. We'll get nothing but capitulation from our current crop of useless bastards.

    Yeah, that would be the fight. AOC is the best chance we've got right now, and if she wins, we'll need to get more people in that are closer to her political stance, then we can choose the leftmost from there, and so on. It's not dissimilar to selecting for preferable traits across several breeding generations for crops and livestock, a notoriously slow and steady process.
