Ninja throwing stars being banned is some fucking bullshit though. and no ferrets just because a couple people taught them how to steal jewels. and i can only have a fixed blade knife if it’s completely open carry suspended from my waist, but a folding knife is fine (brand new law). i don’t want to tuck my jacket into my bowie knife handle… and no fixed blade knives in parks but like, how many people are killed with fixed blades vs folding? like .001%? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] b000rg@midwest.social 3 points 3 months ago (1 child) You should look up knife laws in Australia if you think California is strict. I just found out about this a few weeks ago, but in most of the country, it's illegal to carry a knife AT ALL unless you have a clear purpose for it. I wouldn't be able to carry the 2.5" folding knife I keep on me at all times if I were Australia unless I was on the clock and expecting to open some packages. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ozymandias@sh.itjust.works 1 point 3 months ago what if you engrave the blade with the words “for kangaroo defense only”? are you allowed to have throwing stars or make flaming arrows though? permalink fedilink source parent [–] maccentric@sh.itjust.works 2 points 3 months ago (1 child) Colorado got weed first permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ozymandias@sh.itjust.works 1 point 3 months ago california had medical marijuana first, which made it mostly legal permalink fedilink source parent
