On @redlemace@lemmy.world's advice, I stacked the new pile in a criss-cross pattern. It certainly is more compact and more stable, but also finding adequately-sized logs to make the pile grow straight is a somewhat OCD exercise that I don't care that much for.
Also, my pile doesn't look as nice as in other people's photos 🙂 But hey, it's functional.
Those pretty trees are ridiculously uniformly coated with snow (prob the constant wind).
No wind, but plenty of diamond dust this year. It hasn't snowed in 4 weeks, yet I have to clear the driveway every 3 days just because of the diamond dust.
