An unprotected tank in a city is an easy target. Approach from the side or rear and get any large, hard object in the treads, and it'll throw the track and be effectively immobilized.

Any tank driver will avoid driving over obstacles for this reason. It's not a monster truck, so even a couple cars forming a barricade with either block them out, or make them go around, perhaps onto a street of your choosing.
