That being said, I would love it even more if the DFB actually pulled out of the World Cup. We have to stop hosting these events in fascist countries. BUT, if only the DFB would pull out it would certainly not be an earthquake. Big football nations not qualifying for the WC is certainly news, but it does happen and I'm certain the event would go on as usual, even without Germany. Now, every UEFA member pulling out, that would be an earthquake felt around the world. But I feel like we have better chances of the orange turd exploding spontaneously than that happening. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [โ] Quantillion@mstdn.io 3 points 6 months ago @wuzzlewoggle @Reznik ๐ I fear the best we'll be able to do is everyone switch off all #WorldCup games played in the US. Seems like money is still doing most of the talking these days. I'd argue more so than usual in fact. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [โ] msage@programming.dev 0 points 6 months ago Money? No. It's the perceived power and willingness to get up and do bad things under disguise of keeping status quo. And most people won't stop them. permalink fedilink source parent
