Yep usa is so fucked up. And I do not see much protest there. So it will get worse.

There's quite a few protests, but they're weirdly not being widely reported or televised. Funny how that works. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2026/01/09/protests-nationwide-ice-federal-shootings-photos-videos/88100198007/

I was in a small one just a few days ago.

Letting all your media consolidate into the hands of a few oligarchs will have that effect.

In the US, it was the fault of the 30 percent of Americans who don’t give a shit and couldn’t be bothered to get off their asses and vote.

Not sure why you’re letting off the other 30% who voted for Trump, unless it’s just because that’s obvious. They have agency. They go in the bin too.

The idea that only a third of us are good citizens is sobering but completely believable. Jefferson worried about this at length in his writings. He was right on that count.

Or the Democratic leadership and specifically Bill Clinton who enabled this.

This has been going on long before Clinton. Regan got everything deregulated.

More recently though, we had Elizabeth Warren and Lina Khan who tried to unravel this mess. But of course Khan is gone, and Warren has been defanged by a Republican-controlled house, senate, presidency, and judiciary.

few protests [...] not being widely reported or televised.

But then you need to do something about that.

After all, unheard protests are the same as no protests.

@Jimbel @JensSpahnpasta I wrote to my MP the other day asking why her leader (Ed Davey) condones X by being on it. Going to try needling a bit more directly I think.

Thats good. The politicians must feel the citizens really dislike what happens. Only that authorizes political and legal actions against trump.

But i guess at this point the civil protest must be quite powerfull. Otherwise its just neglected.

    Whish you the best.
