Language can be powerful in shaping ideas and the US has convinced the entire world that they are the "Americans" and everybody else on the 2 continents aren't.

I can't help but read it as US Asians, every time.

I somewhat see your point, but this weird word will never catch on.

What else can we call them (even though Americans is the correct word)?
