CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — At least seven explosions and low-flying aircraft were heard around 2 a.m. local time Saturday in Venezuela’s capital, Caracas. The government accused the United States of attacking civilian and military installations in multiple states.

[...]

Venezuela’s government, in the statement, called on its supporters to take to the streets.

“People to the streets!” the statement said. “The Bolivarian Government calls on all social and political forces in the country to activate mobilization plans and repudiate this imperialist attack.”

The statement added that President Nicolás Maduro had “ordered all national defense plans to be implemented” and declared “a state of external disturbance.” That state of emergency gives him the power to suspend people’s rights and expand the role of the armed forces.

I have no idea how you could draw that conclusion from my comments.

Anyways:

Don’t you agree that the regime could be overthrown if the decent people in the US [...] were to join forces?

The US military just casually kidnapped a major head of state by exercising a tiny fraction of it's resources, the general US population doesn't have any more ability to violently resist that kind of overwhelming force than Venezuela does.

I am by no means calling for violence - I have no idea why you would think that. I am calling for civil disobedience, for a general strike that could paralyze the country until the regime is overthrown. I see no other way out of your situation, and I see no reason why that should not be legitimate.

I didn't say you were calling for violence.

I see no other way out of your situation

    Okay, and you're simply wrong.

What do you think is the right approach? Your smurf accounts will definitely not fix it...

You've made it abundantly clear that you're not my ally, why should I waste my time explaining this to you?

(edit: my smurf accounts? Are you serious?)

I think you'll have a hard time finding allies if you can't even express what you want to achieve. I'm not your enemy.

Choosing not to spend my time explaining it to someone so insecure they accuse other people of botting them instead of accepting that they are posting an unpopular opinion is a reasonable choice on my part.

This shit is important, and that energy is much better spent elsewhere. I have allies who deserve my time. You have gone to great pains to exclude yourself from that list, a choice you have made which I am respecting.

I sincerely hope you have a nice day.
