Will there be a pro version without in-app purchase like there was before? If I could avoid the in-app purchase I'd prefer it. There where weekly threads on Reddit when the in-app version failed to work correctly and I never had any problem with the pro version.

Other than the already mentioned points, the old Sync Pro and Sync Dev didn't include the ad libraries in the app. Sync Dev was on beta track by default IIRC and had an internal test group like the current 100 limited users testing group Sync for Lemmy has.
