To say Fletcher Hanks was a unique comic book creator is putting it mildly.

Hanks is very definitely in a category by himself. Until the Internet made old, public domain comic books readily available to savor without having to pay thousands of dollars each, it’s a safe bet that few, if any, fans, no matter how old, even remembered the work of Fletcher Hanks.
