99% chance it's a wrap. You just peel it off when you're done with it. It doesn't damage paint if you take it off in less than like 7 years and it would never damage the stainless.

Could be a wrap as suggested, but also, DeLorean parts are getting pretty thin on the ground. When they have too much body damage people will bondo and paint them. It happens.
