I think there's a way to sum it all up. The right uses violence because it's embedded in their ideas of the world. The left sees violence as a means to an end. Even the most bloodthirsty anti-capitalist would be happy if they could set it aside and live peaceably. If there is no fight to be had, then a conservative will have to make one or else someone might notice they have no other ideas.
