Glitch Princess felt awkwardly transitional: them abandoning the Cuushe-esque dreampop aesthetic of Serotonin II and their EPs and setting out for a more direct sound, replacing reverb with distortion, and flirting with PC Music-style hyperpop though shying away from its full maximalism. In Softscars, they seem to have more of a feeling for this sound, whilst also leaning into the 90s grunge/alternative retro aesthetic, ร la Beabadoobee.
