i've never partaken, so anyone feel free to correct me, but i thought the usual point of shower sex was to do a quick shower at the same time as a quick sex, in order to get them both done quickly when pressed for time.

    Depends.

    There is the "let's do this quick so we can go to work" shower sex.

    Then there is the "we have this nice big shower with heated floors so we can really enjoy our time together" shower sex.
