You must convert them to DSD512 to fully enjoy them. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Buddahriffic@lemmy.world 34 points 1 year ago (2 children) If you want true high quality, you need to first convert them to 48bit 96Hz wav files, and then have them etched onto vinyl because analog isn't lossy like digital is, even without compression. That's why I blow up any jpegs I want to save on a projector onto a 5m screen and trace them to get better than original quality. Come visit my museum if you'd like to check out some sweet memes (because I refuse to ruin my effort by re-digitizing them). Anyone know any good resources for giant scroll management? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Silic0n_Alph4@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (1 child) All well and good until Bethesda hear about your museum of ancient scrolls… permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] starman2112@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago* (2 children) I still can't believe Bethesda successfully sued for legal ownership of a fucking literature format It's not as bad as Nintendo successfully suing for ownership of balls with things in them, but still some hot bullshit permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago lol these companies are truly insane. they are basically trying to strangle any seed of innovation remotely related (very very remotely) to theirs out of fear of competition. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Zwrt@lemmy.sdf.org 3 points 1 year ago* Mojang themselves came forward with an explanation. Supposedly career lawyers will just jump ship and contest literally anything that might have even a chance of sticking. Regardless on wether they actually want to go to court, there is basically zero downsides to making legal threats and those lawyers feel like they are paid for doing exactly that. Mojang contacted Bethesda and they settled the matter through a counter strike game. Personally i believe mojang did the math and saw that regardless of any outcome this was an opportunity for free publicity for the new game. I fully agree such claim are ridiculous and actually intellectual property is one step away from thought police but in this specific scenario there was no victim, damage or harm. permalink fedilink source parent [–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago 8 track or GTFO permalink fedilink source parent
