If supporting genocide is your "lesser evil," you need to reevaluate your moral compass. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 child) Trump has imposed sanctions on the ICC, the International Criminal Court, because they ruled against Israel. This has actively harmed the ICC in their mission. USAID was feeding Gaza, Trump has ordered the food to rot in storage rather than disburse it. And there are dozens of other things that Trump has gleefully done to specifically hurt Palestinians. While the lesser evil was bad, the greater evil is so much worse. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [+] MetalMachine@feddit.nl -11 points 1 year ago (3 children) Ah yes the difference between genocide and genocide. Trump forced Netanyahu into a ceasefire. That was never a possibility under Biden. In fact we had reports come out that the Biden administration never pressured the israelis once. Which means they were lying about working on it. Both are POS that enable genocide, why are people so butthurt when we rightfully point that out? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago Trump didn't force Netanyahu into a ceasefire, that's a blatant lie. The two announced a ceasefire and then, never actually ceased firing. So yeah, I'll agree that a fake ceasefire was never a possibility under Biden, because he would never have gone along with it. Also, the reports are still saying that Harris was not a fan of Biden's policy on Israel. So yes, the worse option is so much fuck worse than the alternative. The worse option is speedrunning the genocide, trying for a new record of innocents killed in the shortest timeframe. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Franklin@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 year ago* actually the Biden administration put holds on Israeli funding but we're forced to resume by Congress this is not to say that he should not have done more, but as long as we're clearing up some misinformation. permalink fedilink source parent [–] dan00@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago I fucking baffled by the replies on this thread. Some people are not okay, jesus christ. “I mean… yes, hannibal was eating people but at least he would season them properly, you need to give him that!” permalink fedilink source parent [–] Franklin@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 year ago ooh shit you're right, Harm reduction is evil. I'll be sure to tell that to the millions of families that have needlessly died since Trump stepped on the genocide gas because it's all just numbers right? permalink fedilink source parent [–] Soulg@ani.social -1 points 1 year ago I've seen zero people supporting genocide. permalink fedilink source parent
