Just wait until we tell everyone you're supposed to regularly clean the built up lint out of your dryer duct, as well. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] zout@fedia.io 1 point 1 year ago (1 child) I always find it fascinating that you guys still have dryer ducts, here in the Netherlands we only have condensation dryers since the last ten years or so. Newest is heat pump dryers which are also condensing, though I'm still not sure they are actually more energy efficient. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago Not only that, but a depressing plurality of people also still have gas fired dryers and water heaters. These are ducted as well because they obviously absolutely must vent to the outside. permalink fedilink source parent [–] SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net 1 point 1 year ago I tried to clean the filter in my dishwasher after having had it for a year or so.. unscrewed a bunch of stuff trying to find it.. ultimately turned to the internet for answers. Like why is this so goddamned difficult? Turns out, some of them now (I bought this one about 10 years ago, it’s midrange at best) don’t have them, they have macerators, sort of like a tiny garbage disposal inside the dishwasher. So that question isn’t always wrong. permalink fedilink source parent
