  1. People have enough RAM.
  2. Developers see people getting more RAM.
  3. Developers allow their software to use more RAM (either by doing more cool stuff or optimizing less stuff).
  4. People have little RAM.
  5. People buy more RAM.
  6. goto 1;

This also applies to CPU and GPU.
