Since when does reddit take a hash of your hardware?

that part of my statement wasnt based in anything I know for certain, I see it mentioned a lot, I know they're doing something with algorithms that auto-ban suspected accounts,

I wouldnt put it past them however. while I think my phone is comprimised anyway and unsuitable for going back to Reddit, I know that one way to get hardware id'd for good. is by installing that stupid reddit app, which I wont do ever

They absolutely get your IP and probably some cookie data saved on your computer. Not sure about phones, those are privacy nightmares. I got tagged for trying to get around an IP ban on a sub, so they absolutely track that. Cleared all cookies and trackers, unplugged my modem for a few hours so my ISP would issue a new IP, and once I verified that I had a new IP I was able to use the sub under a different account.

I tried something similar and even waited not hours but months before I even attempted to log in. My account would be fine but the moment I post I get shadowbanned.

Same account? Sure. New account? I’m surprised.

I've tried so many methods that ended in failure, I just gave up and learned to live without

different devices, AFAIK my work PC, personal desktop and both my old and new phone are probably comprmised somehow

tried using incognito mode, different browsers, coupled with different emails. even caved and tried a VPN,

always ended the same way. Make the account, and it gets shadowbanned as soon as I post. Even tried posting in completely different subs instead of the usual suspects.

until I commit to getting a burner laptop or some other device, they got me . I just dont care enough to go that extra step, its fucken reddit. the only thing reddit is good for is niche interest communities, hobbies, etc. the usual swill with News Politics and Sports is just blood pressure raising brainrot
