Probably in that order. permalink fedilink source hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] ButteredToast@startrek.website 4 points 2 years ago* (1 child) Can’t agree on Samsung at all, unless it’s an old model that you plan to put LineageOS on to wipe all the crap away. Samsung’s flavor of Android is one of the most extensively modified of manufacturer variants and they push their own stuff over Google’s or AOSP’s hard. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] seaQueue@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago +1, every Samsung device that I've owned has been super in my face with apps and ads and services that I couldn't give less of a shit about. Their hardware is fine but oh man OneUI is a hot mess until you freeze or disable a bunch of stuff. permalink fedilink source parent [–] its4am@lemmy.sdf.org 2 points 2 years ago (1 child) Google hardware has limited worldwide availability which pretty much makes them non-mainstream. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ShittyRedditWasBetter@lemmy.world -2 points 2 years ago That would be a really good point, if that user weren't clearly in Germany where Pixels are widely available. permalink fedilink source parent [–] Hazdaz@lemmy.world -4 points 2 years ago (1 child) Apple, then Samsung. Google doesn't put out enough products to be on this list and almost all their phones seem to have at least one fatal flaw. Some might be fixable via software, but not always. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ShittyRedditWasBetter@lemmy.world -4 points 2 years ago* (2 children) Whatever you are talking about is a personal preference. TouchUI is a mess with too many features I couldn't give a shit about. But in terms of offering a decent power user experience I haven't seen better. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] Hazdaz@lemmy.world 3 points 2 years ago Google's phones have had screen issues. There was also some kind of phantom power draw issue in the previous version. Turning a blind eye to quality problems doesn't make them go away. permalink fedilink source parent [+] keyez@lemmy.world 1 point 2 years ago (1 child) [deleted] permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] ShittyRedditWasBetter@lemmy.world 0 points 2 years ago I couldn't care less what they are calling it nor does the average person. It doesn't mean I didn't own an S21U and it was filled to the brim with bloat. From their shitty version of assistant, to their shitty little app store which bugs me to login to a Samsung account every month so I can update my Samsung clock app. Same with the wife's s22. What a wonderful job you did focusing in on pedantic shit that serves no purpose other than gate keeping. "This fucker used last year's name for this ui component.
