I taught myself using videos and became - over years - an advanced knitter. My goal was; i want to be able to design and knit anything i want to, and i achieved that goal (not always flawlessly, but still). It's fun, colorful, the knitting communities are great, and you will boost your self esteem, because even though you will make tons of mistakes (even at an advanced level), you will also learn how to fix them, or hide them.
