[–] brucethemoose@lemmy.world 17 points 2 years ago* (4 children) How's it being censored? Not cynical, I believe that. But I'm genuinely curious about specifics. Is it, like, algorithmically deprioritized? permalink fedilink source hideshow 8 child comments replies: [–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works [S] 29 points 2 years ago (3 children) You have to sign in to see it and it's really hard to find on youtube even if you're signed in. I had a hard time finding an open version of it. It's not outright banned, just really hard to access. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] rbesfe@lemmy.ca 9 points 2 years ago* YouTube recommended it to me in my sidebar a few days ago. I imagine the curse word in the title has more to do with the algorithmic suppression than the actual content. permalink fedilink source parent [–] CaptSpify@lemmy.today 7 points 2 years ago (1 child) Not logged in, and the first two of my results were this video. I was able to watch it. I'm all for calling out censorship when it happens, but lets not make an issue when one doesn't exist. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works [S] 7 points 2 years ago (1 child) Please share the links, that would be great if that's true. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] CaptSpify@lemmy.today 4 points 2 years ago (1 child) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS5BMZon2Xs permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works [S] 7 points 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) (1 child) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kS5BMZon2Xs Nice, the non-official version. The translation from spanish in the description: After the Hinds Hall saga, which last year caught the world's attention and motivated all the militancy, the rapper Macklemore has just released a new video called Fucked up. The translation would be something like enough, but to make a more accurate translation and with the insulting element in Creole, the expression would mean something like "Inflated the balls". The video shows the social weariness with all the succession of abuses in this dystopian global model. It expresses very recent elements since Trump's inauguration, such as Elon Musk's gesture, the mobilizations against ICE (the agency that deports migrants), the social dramas in the United States and the genocides in Gaza, Sudan, or Congo. With images of mobilizations but also of tremendous situations, the video also harshly attacks the hegemonic media, the cultural industry and censorship on social networks. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] _cryptagion@lemmy.dbzer0.com -1 points 1 year ago It's available on his official page as well. Yes, that's modern censorship. The owners of social media get to decide how viral a piece of content will be. This is why when you make a new X account it pushes right-wing conspiracy nonsense. Or why Palestinian topics don't gain traction. The manipulation of social media to control what you see and hear is invisible. Some people, topics and keywords can be deprioritized and others boosted and nobody can know the extent except the people that own the social media companies. The Social Dilemma and The Great Hack go into the nuts and bolts of how people are profiled so that content can be targeted at them as well as how political outcomes are driven by the manipulation of social media, they're on Netflix. permalink fedilink source parent [–] raoulduke85@lemm.ee 5 points 2 years ago (1 child) He’s just rapping headline news.
