Fuck that. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] donuts@kbin.social 48 points 2 years ago (1 child) That's the picture they're painting, but unfortunately for them nobody's buying it. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] pachrist@lemmy.world 8 points 2 years ago (1 child) Unfortunately for us, someone probably will buy it. Somehow, there are millions of people who legitimately think Trump is the freaking Messiah. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] donuts@kbin.social 10 points 2 years ago (1 child) That's very true, but all of their minds were made up about that years ago. I know the average person is fucking stupid as fuck, but I can't help but wonder how many people are still sitting on the fence when it comes to Trump. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] CitizenKong@lemmy.world 6 points 2 years ago (1 child) Well, in most Western democracies, the really stupid seem to amount to about 10 to 20 percent (rising sadly). Due to a (completely intended) lack of education and decades of propaganda by the right, that amount seems to be about 30 percent in the US. That's still very much a minority! On the other hand, Hitler only needed about 35 percent of the popular vote to dismantle democracy in Germany (different political system though). permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] sweetviolentblush@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 years ago Is it really only 10 to 20 percent? I was thinking closer to 30, but maybe thats my pessimism permalink fedilink source parent
