There there, and the Republican majority couldn't give a fuck what Trump does, as long as it destroys American democratic institutions. They weren't coy about this since the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Congress, this congress, the one which was just installed, and elected this past November, is going to sit back, and watch it all burn.
