These are not the same jews from 80+ years ago. How generations have changed and the well has been poisoned. I sympathize not with today's Jews and today's Israel as I would for the Jews and Israel of generations past.

    Even Hamas, who is getting bombed by people saying "We're doing this because we're Jews and this is Jewish land" sees through that and makes a distinction between Jews and Zionists. Some guy living in the imperial core who has never been victimized has no excuse.

    So you think the Hamas Charter, an Arabic-language document, was made entirely for western PR?

    Also, religion is orthogonal to Zionism; most Zionists are American Christians like Joe Biden. Israel is a settler-colonial project first and foremost, and religion is simply a tool it uses for that purpose.

    yeah hamas sucks. it's important to understand though why people are turning to hamas right now: it's that, or die. so there are a lot of people with hamas right now who don't hate jews, but are fighting alongside or even under a terrorist group who does genuinely and deeply suck.

    He’s kind of right though, if you’re interested in understanding the flaw of your approach here you might try to read up on “The fallacy of composition” which is the fundamental logical flaw you’re sitting on at the moment that the responder is taking issue with, albeit impolitely.

    you need to go outside and talk to like… people. you did a logical fallacy, got called out on it, and then dug your heels in. lemmy and mkin for whatever reason manages to make people really angry and sometimes the best thing to do is just… log out for a couple months.

    Zionism is as much "Jews" as Nazism was blue-eyed blonde people: they're both very similar ethno-Fascist extremely-racist ideologies which glue themselves to an ethnic group claiming to represent them even while plenty of members of that ethnic group very overtly say "They do not represent me".

    Never believe Fascists when they claim to represent a nation (in the case of the traditional Fascists) or a race (in the case of the ethno-Fascists). In fact, the more general rules is "Never believe Fascists".
