Due to the unprotected nature of most Wii saves, Dolphin has functionality built in to export and import Wii save files.

To export from Dolphin, right click the game, select "Export Wii Save", and select the root of your SD card. Then go into your save settings, find the file on your SD card, and copy it over to the Wii system memory.

To import saves, copy them to the SD card, then in Dolphin go to the Tools menu, and within there are "Import Wii Save" (singular) and "Import Wii Saves" (multiple) that you can then provide the location of a single file or whole SD card to import your saves.

The only exceptions to this process are games that use protected Wii saves that cannot be copied from the system menu. In that case, you need to use a modded console and a save manager of your choice (like SaveGame Manager GX), but the process is broadly the same.

I've been recently experiencing a black screen and freeze when loading a game or application (fine once loaded, if it loads). This seemingly happens at random, and the freeze completely locks up the whole console (only way to power off is to press and hold the power button). The Wii Remote also disconnects as soon as it enters this state. I previously have replaced the thermal paste and cleaned the inside of dust, but this seems to not have had an effect. Does anyone else have any experience with this issue? My Wii is modded, if it helps, although the problems happen in both retail disc games and homebrew. I have a Bluetooth board on order to try out and see if it helps.

EDIT: I have installed a new Bluetooth and WiFi module, and it seems to have fixed the problem. Have had zero freezes so far. If anyone else experiences this, it's probably the Bluetooth module. Also while you are in there change out the thermal paste and pads (used some K5 Pro, PTM 7950, and some copper shims in order to bridge the gap between the CPU/GPU and the heatsink) since that'll help your Wii last longer.
