“The encampment is currently the only place in the region where it is not illegal for homeless people to set up a tent or structure,” the decision read. “The region has clearly stated that if the encampment is cleared, it is not prepared to allow homeless people to shelter outdoors anywhere on region property. The extremity of this position is what ultimately drives the findings that the infringements are not saved by [the Charter]. No one should romanticize or be starry-eyed about the encampment. It is a miserable and desperate place. But it represents the only remaining safety valve for the region’s homeless as a refuge of last resort.”

Hey everyone,

My account is fairly new, but I've been here for a while under a different account. Sharing this flyer would out my identity so I'd rather use a different account for this sort of purpose.

I'm sharing a flyer for a martial arts class that I've been taking part in for a little around a year. We were once practicing in the Kitchener Downtown Community Centre, but they've decided to no longer let us use the Community Centre, which is something that has apparently happened for a bunch of other clubs as well. We've since moved our practice sessions to a nearby church at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, at 54 Queen St. N.

And here's the quote from our sensei's postings elsewhere:

Need a fun way to get fit and relax after a busy holiday season? Take a look at our aikido classes starting at $40/month! Our new session kicks off on January 6 with adult and kids classes. We’re also launching our new caregiver and child classes, which is a new exciting way for kids and their loved one to experience aikido together. Check out https://kiaikido.ca/page/classes/ for details and sign-up!

If you have questions, lemme know here or feel free to reach out through information on the website as well, which our sensei hosts and monitors.

I don’t usually do stuff like advertising, so let me know if I missed anything. Just sharing an event that some people I know are organizing.

Fans of Pokémon, and especially if you love Pokémon cards, some friends are organizing the very event for you — Pokémon Social!

Head on to Labodega at 132 Ahren’s St W, on Sept 19th (Fri) from 6 - 9 pm, and meet fellow Pokémon lovers and card collectors over snacks and drinks, including Pikachu and Eevee-themed sundaes.

You’ll even get a chance to get some custom, hand-drawn Pokémon cards!

I realize that I’m posting this in the Waterloo community but I’ll be cross-posting this to the Kitchener community as well.

On the right of this feature photo shows my award-winning photo, and on the left, a laser-etched copy that turned this simple photo into a museum-quality piece of art.' What do you think? Good, bad or 'just a plain ordinary picture etched in wood?' https://flippen.ca/why-laser-engraving-on-hardwood-beats-other-hobbies/
