Mina Chan, a prominent K-pop influencer with more than 80,000 followers, apparently died by suicide during a TikTok livestream, according to reports.

Chan, a superfan of the K-pop group ENHYPEN, was recording inside her home in South Korea on Aug 5 when her behavior began to disturb some of her viewers, The Korean Herald reported. Several social media users reached out to law enforcement, begging them to help the social media star.

Officers ultimately to responded to the residence in Hangangno-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul after receiving a call from one of Chan’s acquaintances, authorities told the Herald. When they arrived on the scene around 5.33am, they found the influencer already dead.

Chan’s sister confirmed her death in a social media post the following day.

“My beloved older sister, who was always kind and warm to everyone she met, has passed away,” the message read, per WION. “I kindly ask that you keep my sister in your thoughts and prayers.”

She was 26 years old. Her death is under investigation and the live stream has since been pulled from TikTok.

In the days leading up to her death, Chan had been facing criticism over her actions at a ENHYPEN concert back in July, WION reported. She tried to get band member Sunoo to pass flowers to fellow member Ni-ki — who is from Japan like Chan — and some fans accused her of trying to call attention to herself.

AICHI (TR) – A woman walking on a sidewalk in Nagoya who was left fighting for her life after a man plummeted from a building and landed directly on top of her has died, reports TV Asahi (July 19).

According to investigators, the incident occurred at approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday in the Sakae district of Naka Ward. A 29-year-old man fell from the residential building, directly hitting Tomoki Inaba, a restaurant employee who lived in the area.

Police say Inaba was walking past the scene with a friend at the time she was caught in the fatal fall.

She was confirmed dead, with the cause of death determined to be hemorrhagic shock.

The man who fell was rushed to a local hospital. He remains unconscious and is listed in critical condition.

The film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Long Walk has raced to the top of HBO Max’s streaming charts just one day after arriving on the platform.

Originally released in theaters last year, the movie from Constantine director Francis Lawrence is based on a dystopian novel first published in 1979.

An arrested American mercenary currently lodged in Delhi’s high-security Tihar Jail has moved a local court seeking permission to cook his own meals. The inmate has claimed that the standard prison food is “too spicy and oily,” resulting in a severe decline in his health.

The petitioner, identified as Matthew Aaron VanDyke, was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for his alleged involvement in a conspiracy to recruit and train individuals for terrorist activities targeting India. He currently remains in judicial custody.

According to his legal counsel, VanDyke has been virtually unable to eat the provided prison meals for over 50 days. The sudden and drastic shift from his usual diet to heavily spiced Indian prison food has reportedly caused him severe gastrointestinal issues and a significant drop in weight.

In his application to the Delhi court, VanDyke’s lawyers argued that the prison regime is severely impacting his physical well-being. To rectify this, he has requested permission to set up a basic cooking arrangement inside the jail premises.

The plea requests that he be allowed access to raw ingredients and minimal culinary equipment to prepare a simple, “American-style diet.” His legal team noted that he intends to cook basic, non-spicy staples such as chicken, pasta, and seafood like shrimp to meet his nutritional requirements without worsening his medical condition.

A Florida couple who spent six months raising a baby girl after a huge IVF mix-up have reached an agreement with the child’s biological parents, bringing a remarkable custody dispute to an end.

Tiffany Score and Steven Mills became parents to baby Shea after an embryo was implanted during IVF treatment in 2025.

It wasn’t until after Shea was born that they realised something had gone quite badly wrong.

The couple are white and had – understandably – expected a child who was biologically theirs.

When Shea arrived in December 2025, they immediately realised something wasn’t right.

Further testing confirmed that Shea was not biologically related to either parent.

DNA results later showed that Shea’s genetic parents were a South Asian couple whose embryo had been mistakenly implanted during IVF treatment.

What followed was an agonising situation for both families.

Last week, the two families reached a custody agreement that will see Score and Mills remain Shea’s long-term parents. The outcome may strike some readers as surprising. Shea is genetically related to one couple but has spent her short life so far with another.

That question sat at the heart of the case. Should custody be decided by biology alone, or by the bond formed between a child and the parents who have cared for them since birth?

Ultimately, Shea’s biological parents chose not to pursue a custody fight, saying they didn’t believe it would be in the child’s best interests.

Their lawyer, Rob Marcereau, told NBC News that his clients were ‘heartbroken’ by what had happened. He said they would have preferred to keep Shea but believed a custody battle would have been an uphill legal fight and unfair on Shea.
