Sony's decision to stop producing physical discs from 2028 has had gamers up in arms and brands trolling — and it's only getting messier.

I am running my PS5 on the same desk as my PC and I am still looking for a solution to the audio output. Currently I am using Bluetooth for the PS5. But my ideal solution are speakers that I use for both the PS5 and my PC that allow me to simply switch between inputs. Bluetooth audio sucks ass in terms of UX when you run multiple devices and I really want something more convenient. All the stuff I find on Amazon looks like shit, i.e. exactly what I have right now.

Is anyone here running a similar setup and has solved this issue?

Update: I found the Sound Blaster G8 and I must say that Sound Blaster still delivers. It supports two inputs, where both can be USB, which was my use case. One USB doubles as power supply, so you don't need another cable. And then both PS5 and PC just recognized the G8 and it worked immediately after plugging it in. Really cool. And because it has an optical out I could repurpose an old soundbar to replace the old active speakers. I am thrilled, this exceeds my expectations.

I just wanted to analyze some games and write a bit, hopefully providing some interest to anyone not knowing what to play right now, picking games you might already have access to. one game is longer, one is shorter. summary below with link to full text at the end

about Star wars Jedi survivor:

this has some flawed design and promotes flashy over precision in combat but if you like cinematic setpieces, good characters and exploring the star wars universe - this absolutely is for you. if the star wars label doesn’t spark any interest or you have trouble enjoying the ride for the flaws, this might be something to skip but you would know a few hours into it.

about doki doki litterature club:

this is a video game experience unlike anything out there (to my knowledge). it’s better the less you know and if content warnings about self harm or tags like “psychological horror” doesn’t deter you, i recommend it wholeheartedly. it is a visual novel, first one that kept me engaged throughout. that is, don’t expect riveting gameplay mechanics.

I finally bought my first PS5. It doesn't have a lot of memory on it, so I'm trying to find a m.2 ssd that will work in a PS5 and doesn't cost $400. Does anyone have a good suggestion, like a good brand or place to get one? Please treat me like I'm five and have no idea what I'm talking about here, because I really don't. I'm just hoping some nice folks on Lemmy will take pity and point me in the right direction.

Hi all. I'm sick of replacing my whole controller when the thumbsticks die but it looks like a big job to replace them. Does anyone know of a 3rd party controller under $100 that's more serviceable? Something where I could replace a bad thumbstick in 5-10 minutes rather than half an hour? The edge looks nice, but is price prohibitive for me. I don't need all those extra features, just the replaceable thumbsticks.

So I hear that Playstation Stars will be shutting down at the end of 2024 which sucked because it was like the one thing that at least felt like I could make free money through PlayStation. So does this really mean I'll lose any coins I make?

So I've recently started to replay Watch_Dogs (digital version) on PS5 and oddly enough, it's the only game that won't suspend in rest mode. The console itself has to tell me it won't keep the game open and it'll close in 30 seconds. I've played both PS4/5 and use both digital and physical copies between my library. Anyone have an explanation?

I'm afraid of buying another controller and having the same problem. I don't know if it's like this everywhere in the world, but in Brazil it's a disgrace.

Trying to see if I can use alcohol swabs to clean it.

I want to get a sync box but they are not 4k120. The FancyLEDs box only has one input meaning I can't use a PS5 and set top box or Apple TV.

Any advice or successful set ups?

In the past I used to have EA Play (2 or 3 years ago) but for some stupid reason if I had for example Titanfall 2 in my library added for EA Play and then they gave it away in PS Plus there was no way to claim it in my PS Plus library because "I already had it added in my library", although it was for EA Play license and not PS Plus and during a year that I had EA Play they gave away several EA games that I could not claim precisely because of this and I find it quite frustrating not being able to claim games of a membership that I paid, I mean, even if I have it for EA Play is the same as having it for PS Plus, the game is not mine, it is "borrowed" while paying the service and it is more likely to pay PS Plus than EA Play, so I wanted to have them in my PS Plus library.

Now, that was in the PS4 era and now I have a PS5 and I don't know if that has changed anything, I remember contacting Playstation support and they couldn't help me claim a game that I already had in my account.

Edit: I already read about the merge of communities but it seems to me that in c/Playstation most of the posts are news, and if I ask something it will most likely be ignored or removed.

Looking for some suggestions I'll play anything other than rpgs. Was thinking to wait for the black Friday sale. I also am wondering if it's worth renewing my plus essential. don't really play online just keep it for the sales since my system is digital. Look forward to all's suggestions!

Let's get some business out of the way first. The current c/PS5 poll results are showing: * 149:10 in favor of migrating to c/PlayStation (93.7%)

And for c/PlayStation we are seeing: * 68:10 of in favor (87.2%)

Now for what we are all playing this week:

Personally I am trying to finish Dave the Diver so I can get back to some PS5 games. I am so close to the end, so I'm going to try and drive it home tonight. Then I have Baldur's Gate 3, but honestly, I might start God of War Ragnarok. Something about Spider-man 2 on the horizon has me wanting to finish another PS exclusive before it comes out.

Anyway, what are you all planning to get up to this weekend?

P.S. Not video game related, but I bought some Disney Lorcana cards off ebay to play with my wife. Slight markup, but eh. Planning to get those in tomorrow, so I'll be playing that also.
