Not sure if this is the right spot, but since my code is pretty much AGPL I think it would fit in this. This is a general learning and flow from some of my ideas, all in the opensource vein. I hope you like this reading.

hey everyone, I wanted to share a project I’ve been developing for the past two weeks. I had tried to find a minimalist open-source bad-habit tracker, but I didn’t like the ones I found or ran into some issues. So I decided to build one using the stack I know best. I added some features like setting a target number of days with a progress bar toward that target, notes, and a feed to save articles, news, or video links that help you stay focused on your goal. there’s also an option to set a password to access the site, and both light and dark themes.

Discarr is a self-hosted web UI that bridges disc rips (VIDEO_TS / BDMV / ISO) into Sonarr and Radarr. Scan a disc directory, map the titles to the right episodes or movies in the browser, and it handles the encode queue and arr notification.

Stack: Pure Node.js 18+, no npm packages, only built-in modules. Requires ffmpeg and ffprobe on the host; HandBrake optional. Docker image bundles both.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to ask if anyone has any game controller recommendations.

I’m looking for a controller that has open source software. The hardware doesn’t have to be open source, but if it needs software on PC - that software should be open-source.

Does anyone know of anything good out there? Would really appreciate your suggestions! Thanks in advance!

I am convinced this technology was made by evil people, for evil people. The sheer audacity shown by this company's pathetic attempt at destroying open source. It now only shows how we've failed as a society:

-"Is your legal team frustrated with the attribution clause? Tired of putting "Portions of this software..." in your documentation? Those maintainers worked for free—why should they get credit?"

-"Does your company forbid AGPL code? One wrong import and suddenly your entire proprietary codebase must be open sourced. The horror!"

-"Tracking licenses across hundreds of dependencies? Legal reviews taking weeks? Third-party audits finding "issues"? What if you could just... not deal with any of that?"

-Some licenses require you to contribute improvements back. Your shareholders didn't invest in your company so you could help strangers.

The people who run AI businesses should not to be trusted, not because of any consumer issue but their absolute lack of humanity and disgusting attitude. I will personally be shunning anyone around me who even gives a single fucking dime to these cockroaches. This will not have an impact not only on free software but literally any software you use, it'll make the world of tech less free and we will become more dependant on closed source software. I suggest the open source community wakes up before it's too late.
