SDF was down for a very long time.. like 4-6 months. After finally coming back online, we lost federation capabilities. We also lost the ability to create communities despite having the “Create Community” option.

Sopuli gives me a bad gateway. Is it down or is it me? Does anyone has a way to get to Quentin Calaghan (however you write that) to inform him just in case he didn't notice? He might be on holidays anyway...

Hopefully it’s temporary. Instances that rightfully ignore downvotes are in short supply.

Crossposted from https://lemmy.blahaj.zone/post/42746283

Thanks to someone posting a piefed security exploit without a disclosure period, we've had to pull blahaj piefed down without warning until a fix is implemented. This could take around 24 hours or so.

I could never reach hardware.watch. Not sure if they block Tor or if they died before I discovered them. Lemmyverse shows them as having high uptime:

https://lemmyverse.net/instance/hardware.watch

So perhaps they are just tor-hostile.

(edit) I see recent fedi-cached posts.. so I guess the node is just tor-hostile.

My favorite searx instance is down. I like this instance because it has a lot of built-in alternative front-ends. E.g. it gives Invidious links in place of Youtube links and more importantly stackexchange links.

The linked account is very busy.. almost 10,000 repos. Whoever the asshole is behind that attack, it’s the reason the public has lost the ability to create a new account on nixnet.

This matters in particular because Nixnet is the only gitea/forgejo host that has both a clearnet and onion host -- apart from disroot, but disroot’s onion is dysfunctional.

Note that the XMPP support channel is shut down because that was attacked as well.

Apparently 9 months of data was lost? Not sure. Looks like a 9 month gap in history.

Lemmy is running but all pages present an error message. The site is wholly unusable.

Considering this community is hosted by infosec.pub, it will be interesting to see who sees this post. I suspect only sdf.org folks will see this.

Onion down. Clearnet up.

Since yesterday night, every few hours the instance seems to throw the message "500 Internal Server Error", and today also it started showing "504 Gateway Time-out".

Kbin.Earth had the error 500 once yesterday night too, so maybe an issue with DNS, provider or similar? Don't use it as much so haven't seen any errors since.

I wonder who will even be able to see this post since this community is hosted on infosec.pub. Just slrpnk.net folks, or others?

I see that someone posted there just 11 hours ago, so it may be temporary.

I was also able to post just now, but I guess mbin masks quite well the case of the host node being offline because it posted fine, probably just to a fedia.io cache of dabradio.
