I thought I'd try KDE's Tellico for keeping track of my incense collection. I have only added a few items, but it seems good so far. It's made for GNU/Linux, but it looks like there is a Windows build too.

So cool to see old-school, Indian-style masala agarbatti being made these days rather than the perfumery that currently dominates the style.

Really impressed with the packaging and price. Some super fresh tears here too; I had actually hoped they would be a bit older so that they'd be easier to process!

Im still pretty new to the incense world, but ive been using these sticks (Herb & Earth #7 Frankincense Bamboo Incense) for a long time and theyre my favorite - a bit ago i got a resin burner and real frankincense resin because i love these sticks so much and wanted to know more about its notes - but they do not smell the same at all (frankincense resin is still awesome, but not the smell/note i seek to recreate)

If anyome is familiar with these sticks and have ideas on what its notes are, id love to explore that more, i dont yet have the nose to really describe what makes these sticks so good for me yet.

Thanks in advance!

About to attempt to grind these into powder: hopefully it’s not a waste of money! Pen for scale.

For some reason, there is an almost exact duplicate of this sub at lemmy.cafe. Even the community banner image is the same, although the icon is different. All of the posts on this community have been copied, but they are listed as being posted by a user at lemmy.world. These differences lead me to believe that this isn't a federation thing, but a duplicate of the community.

I'm pretty confused by this, and honestly, a little frustrated that someone would seemingly deliberately fracture such a tiny community on the fediverse.

Does anyone have any insight on what might be going on here?

I just finished this; it's a must-read for anyone into Japanese incense, especially the history aspect.
