Hello everyone,

This is an open letter to the left, in response to the eronious legal attack on bodily autonomy and civil liberties in the Sex Discrimination Amendment, 2026.

Trans-Feminists Unite firmly believes this recent legislative attack if unopposed will be used to further mobilise identity based politics, to terrorise transgender, intersex, sexual minorities and women and to create legal avenues for a greater reactionary campaign against abortion, sexual freedom and bodily autonomy. We believe that the far right will continue to seek out a start to their broader anti-woman campaign many different parts of society, and if unopposed, it will be carried forward by the dire threat of ultra-right wing political parties like One Nation, nationalist and fascist campaigns such as the March for Australia, and cynical capitalists who will use the opportunity to wedge unions and suppress the wages of women and minorities.

Trans-Feminists Unite calls on the left to maintain serious opposition to the organised misogynistic and socially regressive movements as a critical area of defence against the rise of fascism.

-The Membership of Trans-Feminists Unite!

Yabun, “music to a beat” in the Gadigal language, is one of the most significant cultural gatherings on the national calendar. As the largest and most powerful community-led celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture in Australia, Yabun brings First Nations people and allies together to honour history, acknowledge loss, and celebrate the ongoing survival, strength, and excellence of First Nations Peoples. The festival showcases the depth, diversity and vibrancy of First Nations Culture through a full day of traditional and contemporary music, dance, panel discussions, workshops, markets and community activations.

Held annually on 26 January, Yabun offers a vital space for truth-telling, cultural expression and community connection. For many, it is a day of reflection and remembrance; for others, it is a powerful affirmation of endurance and cultural pride. For all who attend, it is an opportunity to stand in solidarity with the world’s oldest living culture. Read more.

Why

Invasion Day Rally Melbourne on Wurundjeri and Boon Wurrung Lands.

January 26 is not a day to celebrate.

It is a day of invasion — and a day of survival, resistance, and mourning. It is a day we come together to tell the truth and demand justice.

On Invasion Day, we rally to stand with First Nations peoples across this continent and demand:

  • Freedom for our peoples, lands and waters
  • Treaty and truth for our old people and for future generations
  • Justice for babies and kids so they can grow up safe, loved, and free

An end to deaths in custody, forced removals, and ongoing violence from systems built on invasion.

Join us on our annual day of protest for First Nations peoples across this continent.

What to bring:

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander flags
  • A deadly banner (we see them and love them btw)
  • Invite 5 friends and family to come with you

In solidarity,
Warriors of the Aboriginal Resistance

For updates check the Facebook event.

Organising guide

Invasion Day is about coming together. Aunties, kids, workers, students and neighbours all walking side by side for truth and justice.

We made this Organising Guide so you do not have to do it alone.
Whether you can put up one poster, host a banner night or bring five friends, it all matters.

Carnival Cruise Welcoming Party!

Hosted by Maritime Union of Australia Victorian Trades Hall Council Maritime Union of Australia - Victoria Branch

When

8:00am Wednesday 21 January

Where

Station Pier
6 Waterfront Pl
Port Melbourne VIC 3207
Australia

Why

At 8am Wednesday, Carnival Cruises is sailing into Melbourne for the Australian Open, and we're going to be there to give them the welcome they deserve.

Why? Carnival (finally) agreed to meet with us, but claimed their ships don't need union agreements because "their conditions are so good".

Well as it turns out ordinary Victorians have a different idea of "good pay and conditions" than fat cat American multi-billionaires.
We will not allow this kind of exploitation to continue. Join us.

(text from organiser, March for Palestine):
🇵🇸JOIN US🇵🇸 The Free Palestine movement will rally outside of the State Library of Victoria on Sunday, 11 January at 12pm to oppose Israeli violations and protest the visit of Israeli President, Isaac Herzog to Australia. At least 406 people have been killed in Gaza since the commencement of the ceasefire while settler violence has increased in the West Bank. Herzog’s visit whitewashes Israeli atrocities as the state of Israel is currently on trial before the International Court of Justice for the crime of genocide. Herzog has been named in the International Court of Justice proceedings, with statements he has made such as there are “no innocent civilians in Gaza” evidencing genocidal intent. At the same time, we’re witnessing increased anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab and anti-Muslim racism and the despicable, baseless attempt to link the free Palestine movement with the horror of Bondi. The Palestinian people continue to be subjected to an illegal occupation and ongoing genocide at the hands of the state of Israel. The Gaza genocide continues, so must we. Join us on the 11th to march for Palestine. #freepalestine #freegaza

The venue is accessible, close to public transport, and welcoming to people of all abilities.

A full program of talks and panels will be released closer to the date.

When

10:00am Monday 26 January

Where

Archibald Fountain
Hyde Park North
Sydney NSW 2000
Australia

Why

While the colony rallies behind glossy “March for Australia” displays and politicians keep insisting we’re all moving forward together, our communities are watching a very different story unfold in NSW. One where governments expand police powers that hit our young people first, child removals keep rising despite endless promises of change, and decisions about Country are made without the people who hold the oldest authority here. It’s been a year where national pride is being marketed louder than ever, yet the truth of ongoing harm, dispossession, and state violence is pushed further out of sight.

In 2025 in New South Wales alone, 12 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have died in custody so far, the highest number on record for any year. In NSW, Aboriginal children make up around 40% of all kids in “care”, despite being a tiny fraction of the child population.

And all of this is happening as the world watches multiple genocides unfold overseas, with Australia refusing to take a meaningful stance beyond carefully managed statements and political distance. The Albanese and Minns governments sit on their hands, offering sympathy without action, while communities across this continent rally in solidarity because we recognise state violence when we see it. Instead of listening, governments clamp down on protest, censor voices, and criminalise resistance; the same tactics historically used against our own people. It’s no coincidence: a nation built on dispossession will always try to control the voices that call it out, whether those voices are fighting for justice here or standing with communities fighting for survival abroad.

The Blak Caucus is calling people together because sovereignty has never been ceded, and because every struggle our communities face is tied to a system built on invasion, genocide and lies.

When

9:00am to 12:30pm Saturday 15 November

Where

Kings Domain
Alexandra Avenue
Melbourne VIC 3004
Australia

Why

On November 15 join What Were You Wearing? Australia for our National ‘Move for Them’ Day – a movement dedicated to reclaiming freedom, safety and power for women, girls and gender-diverse people in public spaces.

This nationwide initiative challenges rape culture, uplifts survivors, and demands the right to move freely, day or night, without fear. With sexual violence rates rising across Australia, everyday acts like running, walking, or exercising outdoors have become risks to safety for too many. Together, we are taking that power back.

For scheduling updates check the Facebook event.

Why we Move

To support survivors in their recovery journey
To celebrate community and collective action
To demand safe access to public spaces for all
To use movement as a source of healing and empowerment

What to Expect on the Day

Collective Run, Jog, or Walk – along a dedicated route, symbolising unity and reclaiming space.

The event is pay-as-you-wish to secure your spot, ensuring accessibility for all community members.

Empowerment Workshops – such as trauma-informed yoga, self-defence training, dance, and group fitness classes.

Inspiring Panel Talks – from survivors, advocates, and community leaders on recovery, resilience, and the importance of safe public spaces.

This day is about movement, connection, and solidarity. Whether you run, walk, stretch, or dance – every step taken is a step towards change.

Make sure you register to secure your place!

Together, we move.
Together, we reclaim.
Together, we demand change.

If one follows world events with open eyes, the question arises: why are we anarchists and our ideas and methods so socially irrelevant at this point in history?

Raging wars and a variety of global crises increasingly highlight the inability of those in power to offer real solutions. If their best response is to sow fear and conscript us as drone and cannon fodder, then the current situation demands revolutionary responses from below. What do we have to propose?

From November 7th to the 9th, we want to come together at Mehringhof in Berlin-Kreuzberg, get to know each other and our different realities, and exchange ideas. We gather not only to react to the new failures of the state and capitalist system, but also to develop our own long-term responses and build resilient networks and structures based on mutual aid and communality, as well as an anti-authoritarian, non-reformist and antagonistic stance.

The meeting sees itself as an experimental space for self-organization, with co-creation by all participants. As the initiating group, we organize the space for the meeting as well as a certain framework (food, pre-selection of events, time allocation…), which can then be filled with life by all of us who come to the meeting. It will be possible to hold several events at the same time.

If this appeals to you, we welcome you and your proposals – in the form of talks, discussions, workshops, films and other artistic contributions on the following topics:

  • War, genocide and military mobilization
  • Anticolonial movements (e.g. Palestine, Sudan, Congo)
  • Advance of the right and social fascization
  • Earth destruction
  • Criticism of technology (e.g. AI and co)
  • Health autonomy
  • Feminism (esp. patriarchal dynamics in the anarchist movement), transfeminism

If there are other topics that are close to your heart, then of course it is also possible to bring them in.

Everyone is invited to contribute their practical experiences in (self-)organizing. Historical and theoretical contributions are also welcome if they focus on nourishing the practice and building stronger connections to current struggles.

On one hand, we seek to facilitate international exchange and knowledge transfer, so reports and continued discussions from previous anarchist events are strongly encouraged. Translation between German and English will be provided, and we invite speakers of other languages to volunteer as interpreters as well.

On the other hand, with this gathering we hope to strengthen the relationships between anarchist circles and individuals in Berlin, of which there are fortunately many, but which often exist side by side without much exchange between them.

Please contact us in case you:

have event proposals

could translate at the event

would like to draw/design a poster (it would be nice to have several)

could provide a place to sleep

would like to support otherwise

Here are the forms to facilitate the submission of your proposal:
Call for Participation.

We are looking forward to your contributions. Please, repost and translate the call. See you soon!

International Anarchist Convergence of the Amazon
November 9 - 22, 2025
Combu Island
Belém, Brasil

Dear comrades,

As a reminder, and for those who may be interested in joining us in our struggle, COP30 (the 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference) is being organized in our city this year, and we will be happy to welcome all libertarian activists who want to participate in protest activities and denounce this most hypocritical of summits designed to protect us from the misfortunes created by the event’s own organizers.

We will be happy to welcome you and get involved in the planned protests that are currently being prepared.

We appreciate any material help you can provide us (computer, audio or video equipment, for example) and we hope to meet everyone who wants to join us in the struggle that promises to be particularly fierce in the lands devastated by agribusiness in the Amazon.

Furthermore, you can help us (and a lot) by sharing this information with all your libertarian contacts. This could allow us to create a true anarchist bloc during the days of protests that Belém will experience during COP30.

Since our Amazonian peoples are already mobilized against the laws that the governor of Pará tried to implement against them, we hope that the activists from Brazil as a whole and from other countries and continents will join us.

To do this, we are thinking of organizing a libertarian village on Combu Island, facing the south of the city of Belém, near the CCLA (Centro de Cultura Libertária da Amazônia), to host this activist group that we hope will be numerous (we are thinking of a lodging solution for 100 people).

Therefore, for those who want to join our activists during the anti-COP30 activities, we are organizing an “anti-COP30 libertarian journey”.
